Schedule Filming

When we knew we were ready to start shooting we planned to start filming with our actors the following week, so we would have enough time to figure out locations, props, and filming techniques. Our goal was to try and get all our takes done in one afternoon and evening. We all met at the house we were using for the location of the film and started setting up the scenes with props around 3:00 in the afternoon. We had to be mindful to shoot the outdoor scenes first while it was still bright before the sun went down. We were also able to film the scenes in the bedroom and the entryway for our opening. This way the viewers will see enough of the film to understand the basic premise in only two minutes. We spent the next four hours shooting takes over and over again, so we would have enough footage to work with during the editing process.

This is a prop we had to prepare in advance. We wrapped clear cling wrap over the bulletin board to protect the polaroid photos underneath. This allowed us to draw over them with sharpie.

It was very time consuming playing with and trying to find the right lighting for each scene.

Overall, the shoot went well and we got all of the footage we need to create the film!
