Research- The Blair Witch Project
The Blair witch Project is a 1999 American supernatural horror film. During the first few minutes of the film three students are seen preparing for a trip to go looking for the Blair Witch. The three are shown packing and loading up their car with their backpacks and supplies. The movie was shot to have the appearance of a documentary so they have the characters filming and holding the camera themselves. As a result, the camera tends to be shaky and extremely close up to their faces. The first scene shows the three students conversing and joking with one another creating a light feeling. The set is very realistic and natural because they are portraying that this is real found footage. The budget for the film was $60,000 and ended up making $248.6 million. The Blair Witch Project has been nominated many times and has received numerous awards including the Independent Spirit John Cassavetes Award and the NME Award for Best Film.
